Genealogy Jingle

A jingle from the Genealogy Group to say...
March winds blow and families grow,
From roots that go way back.
Like divining rods, we find those roots. . .
ingenuity we don't lack.
History & Culture are subjects we explore.
We seldom have a meeting where we don't learn something more.
So note the date & time, & don't forget the place.
We'd love to have you join us & see your shining face.

PAUL BASS TO LEAD CENTER'S $55,000 ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN

The Council Bluffs Senior Center Board of Directors has announced a $55,000 community fundraiser campaign designated for seniors who are unable to pay the stated program and membership fees.

The theme of the annual campaign is Building Hope . . . Changing Lives. Forty volunteer campaigners from the Center are now being recruited to solicit gifts from area businesses, Center members, and other interested residents in the Council Bluffs community.

The campaign will begin February 25th and conclude April 22nd. Paul Bass will chair the annual giving campaign. "The Center is committed to reaching the neediest and most vulnerable senior residents in our community", says Paul Bass, 2010 Sustaining Chair. "Our board has a adopted a strategy of reaching out to more seniors with disabilities and those who live in poverty.

New Center initiatives funded by last year's campaign include a scholarship program that now serves 15% of its members and creative and innovative programs designed to reduce the risk of falls in our senior population.
